Alfredo:
I agree with you.
Maybe people didn’t realize this but the Board, in its meeting of May 24th decided to move the surplus of 2016 to Beyond the Net to increase the support to the Chapters for running projects.
It means $ 420 k additional to the 2017 budget.
It is increasing…
Best,
Raúl

Hi to all:
I also agree with David. The points made by Raul are also plausible. However, the funds distributed among chapters does not aid in necessarily increasing exposure, implementing local initiatives beyond the limited funding that is competitive in some cases.
Our chapter has been very creative in seeking sponsorships to increase our visibility, among our civil society and deprived communities that lack knowledge of the role they could / can play in decreasing the "digital divide".

Subject: [Chapter-delegates] Request that board member Sunday discuss forming a group to review the chapter proposals
Just gave my report to the Board from the ChAC.
One point they wanted me to make to the group is that their resolution
as defined by the Staff paper is not a rejection of our funding
proposal, but rather the initiation of a dialogue.
Avri
(I have attached both my slides and the letter that motivated the
Board's motion)
