[Chapter-delegates] Urgent : Voting Delegates for BoT 2017. Deadline: Wednesday January 18th , 2017.

Dear Chapter Leaders,

As you know the Internet Society Board of Trustee elections are coming up soon (see also: http://www.internetsociety.org/trustees ). It is therefore important that we know who within the Chapters to send the voting ballots to. I know your respective regional Chapter Managers have been in touch with some of you already but I wanted to share the revised and simplified voting delegate validation procedure with all of you:

Voting Delegates:
The Voting Delegate is as of 2016 by default the Chapter Chair/President, whose record is kept up to date in the AMS by the respective Chapter AMS Administrator through the Chapter Portal at https://portal.isoc.org .  Chapters have different election times and may therefore change Chair/President at any time during the year.  This is an ongoing process that is monitored by the Chapter Development Team throughout the year. Should the Chapter wish to appoint a Voting Delegate other than the Chair/President, they can update the list of Chapter officers in the Chapter record accordingly through the Chapter Portal. It is therefore crucial that you update the Chapter Portal with your current Chair/President as he/she will receive the ballot for the BoT voting. Only if you wish that the ballot goes to someone else from the Chapter (other than the Chapter President) will you need to indicate a Voting Delegate. The Alternate Voting Delegate role will no longer be used. For most of you the Voting Delegate in the Portal was already the Chair/President of your Chapter.

Please make sure the list of Chapter officers is up to date in the Chapter Portal (https://portal.isoc.org) before Wednesday January 18th , 2017.
