[Chapter-delegates] Wikipedia seeking "institutions" for projects, some grants available

Folks
I think if an ISOC chapter came up with a good proposal they would be happy
to consider it an institution. (I haven't asked) Details below.
If I had the time, I'd pull in some of the wireless engineers I know to
improve the accuracy of the main wireless articles. I recently noticed, and
corrected, a mistake about who invented MIMO, a technology now in every
Wi-Fi box and most phones.
If you have the expertise, bringing in current information about Internet
access in your country would be a good project, whether for this or at
another time.
For example, I recently listened to the CTO of Safaricom discussing some
remarkable results of M-Pesa. One example is funding the installment
purchase of a small system with a solar panel and two LED lights. (12
monthly payments Thibaud Rerolle says are less than many families spend on
kerosene for lighting.) There's much more going in Kenya than I've seen on
Wikipedia or the western press.
The two fastest growing broadband countries are Vietnam and Egypt, I'm
about to report from the latest Point-Topic data. Results in those
countries would seem good information. (Do we have a chapter in Vietnam? If
not, something to fix.)
I can't volunteer too much, but can point people to reliable sources in
wireless and broadband.

Inspire Campaigns are month-long events to focus collaborative efforts on
some of the most pressing challenges of the Wikimedia movement. Each
campaign focuses on a unique theme and participation is open to everyone.
Campaigns are hosted in IdeaLab
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/IdeaLab>, where
participants can work together to solve problems, create partnerships and
develop concrete solutions through project development. Grants are available
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Grants:Start> to
support events, research, community organizing, technical or other
initiatives in need of funding. Let's turn ideas into collective action!
What is the current theme?
This campaign is focused on *developing outside knowledge networks* to
support creation and improvement of content on Wikimedia projects. We
invite your ideas on topics such as:
- *Cooperative projects with institutions to improve Wikimedia projects*:
In addition to places like libraries and museums
<https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/GLAM>,
partnerships with other organizations that are not as well represented in
our movement – such as cultural centers, halls of fame, film societies, and
volunteer organizations – are encouraged.
