Many thanks for this truly excellent paper. I find that it covers all the key issues clearly and comprehensively. I have no comments other than “well done.”

Thanks again and best,

Richard

Subject: [Chapter-delegates] [for preview] Internet Society Policy Paper: IoT Security for Policymakers

------Sending this message on behalf of Ryan Polk---

Dear colleagues,

The latest policy paper, IoT Security for Policymakers, is now available for preview through isoc.app.box.com/v/policybriefs-preview

This policy paper builds upon and broadens existing Internet Society positions and material, including our 2015 paper, The Internet of Things (IoT): An Overview <https://www.internetsociety.org/resources/doc/2015/iot-overview> , outcomes from the Internet Society’s 2017 report, Paths to Our Digital Future <https://future.internetsociety.org/> , and the Online Trust Alliance’s IoT Security <https://otalliance.org/system/files/files/initiative/documents/iot_trust_framework6-22.pdf> & Privacy Trust Framework.

During this preview period, which will run until 15 January 2018, we would be particularly interested in your input on the following:

1.	Building off of our "briefing papers" the aim has been to keep the overview of IoT Security concise, while providing links to more in depth information and recommendations for policymakers. At the same time, however, we would like to know: Are there any major points that we missed in the coverage of the issues? We would appreciate if you could use the "Comment" function in Box (note: you need a Box login) to provide your feedback on the relevant papers. The Comment field can be seen to the right of each document preview in Box.

2.	The papers have been written so they would be relevant on a global basis, but could be used as a base to tailor local positions. We are hoping for the online version to have a "Regional Considerations" section that we would like to populate with information, contributed by our Chapters and members, about how these policy issues are addressed in different regions of the world. We would be interested in knowing if Chapters or members would like to contribute to such a section.

We welcome and look forward to reading your comments on the policy paper, IoT Security for Policymakers.

Thank you,

Ryan Polk
