Dear all,

In november 2016, the Dutch Chapter started the Chapter Community Tools
project, with the goal of assisting chapters with their online presence by
bringing their needs in line with ISOC's standards. The project is being
supported by ISOC.org. Part of the project is an online collaborative
environment for chapters including document sharing. Stage 1 of this
collaboration tool, the video/audio conferencing tool, is now ready for use.

Would you like to give it a try? Great! This is how you do it:

   1. Share this url with everybody that will join the conference:
   https://webrtc.sipthor.net/conference/<<yourcountryname>>
   2. Allow access to your camera and microphone.
   3. Start conferencing!

A word of warning:

   - It works best with the latest version of Google Chrome or firefox, so
please update your browser before you start.
   - Make sure beforehand that your camera and microphone work.
   - It does not work very well with old hardware.
   - It cannot repair your internet connection. Good connection: great
picture. Bad connection: try shutting down video, that will help.

Email me your results, so that we can help the developers to improve it
further. Many thanks for your help!

A brief update on the rest of the project:

Chapter Website Template:

   -

A website template reflecting the new ISOC.org design, see www.isoc.nl
as an example of the template in question. The offer to the chapters
   includes free hosting. Check
   https://www.internetsociety.org/chapters/resources/ form more info.
   -

Status: currently in use by 15 chapters, the latest addition being ISOC
   France.

An 'app store' of chapter utilities that conform to ISOC’s high standards

   -

Based on a solid shared technical basis (e.g. a single secure and
reusable source of identity provisioning and authentication management, as
well as DNSSEC) is essential, in addition to primitives like IPv6 and TLS
   certificates.
   -

   Status: nearing completion
   -

Met vriendelijke groet,
Kind regards
