Hello Richard,
Thank you for your comments.
The selection committee for the ISOC Fellowship Programme to WTSA-16 will be comprised of ISOC staff across the organization in line with our practice.
With respect to access to study group documents, we continuously encourage greater openness within in the ITU. It is reflected in our WTSA-16 principles and one of our messages we carry to WTSA.
Thanks again.
Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeh,
Thank you for this excellent initiative. I am sure that you will have many qualified candidates. In fact, given that the cost of the hotel and per diem is relatively low in Tunisia, I would suggest that you consider expanding the program to at least one person per region.
Will the names of the people on the selection committee be made public?
Regarding the substance of WTSA, as we all know, ITU is now making the WTSA input and output documents public. But Study Group documents are not yet public. At the discussions in Council on the document policy, it was decided to ask the ITU Sectors what they thought about access to Study Group documents.
It seems to me that WTSA would be a good opportunity to push for ITU-T Study Group documents to be made public. If ISOC is prepared to make a submission to that effect (called a contribution in ITU), then I would be pleased to help to draft it.
Thanks again and best,
Richard

Dear Chapter Leaders,
This October, the ITU World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) takes place in Tunisia, and it will shape the work the ITU Standardization Sector (ITU-T) does for the next four years. The Internet Society is looking to send two members from ISOC Chapters as part of a fellowship programme to this meeting. Our members are critical in providing on-the-ground perspectives around an open, reliable and secure Internet, and we want your voices heard during WTSA as well. Members must have a solid understanding of the ITU Standardization Sector, a professional proficiency in English, and be available for meetings ahead of the event running from 25 October – 3 November 2016. Learn more and apply<https://www.internetsociety.org/apply-fellowship-itus-world-telecommunication-standardization-assembly> and please share with your members!
Best,
Elizabeth Oluoch
