Good Day All, I thought it might be helpful if I contribute to the conversation about Zoom and Box and provide some additional information.

 

Both of these great tools are indeed offered in a free version, with small limitations.  By using your own email address and setting up a password in both services, you can have a free account. I provide the links below.

 

The small limitation on each:

 

Zoom: Zoom (http://zoom.us/signup) is fully functional with all the great screen sharing, up to 50 participants and HD video and audio for free. The limitation is that any meeting hosted by a free account can be no longer than 40 minutes. 

Box.com: The Box (https://account.box.com/signup/n/personal) service is also full functional and free. The limitation on the free account is 5 GB of storage and a file size limitation of 256 MB.

However, I find that Zoom, which are not free, is a much better web conferencing facility.  In my view, ISOC should help to make Zoom available to chapters directly (rather than by having to go through ISOC staff as is the case today), either by coming up with a way to let chapters have accounts, or by subsidizing the cost for chapters to acquire accounts.
