The cost of U$S 193.000 per year is a little exaggerated. The main cost is obtaining the trademark in the main jurisdictions. After obtaining the trademark there are not expenses until the renewal (in general 10 years). May be, the wisest way is filing the trademark in the main 40 jurisdictions (including China) and later can be filed in other countries.

+1. And this is not intended to attack Internet Society China, which to my knowledge has not attempted to mislead or misuse its name. It is about protecting not only ISOC, but all the Chapters and individuals who share the Internet Society's vision and name.

Trademark registration is not an annual requirement. So your economics are not correct.
