Dear Chapter Delegates, On behalf of the Internet Society’s Board of Trustees Elections Committee, I wish to extend our appreciation and thanks to all of the nominees and candidates for the Board of Trustees Election 2016.We are pleased and honored that such well-qualified individuals stepped forward and committed themselves to serve on the Internet Society Board. The election concluded on 20th April and the results have been counted and certified by the Elections Committee. CHAPTERSIn the chapters election we had three candidates for one open Trustee seat. Olga Cavalli received 38 votes out of the 79 votes cast.Each of the other candidates received less than this number of votes. A list of all Chapters eligible to vote in the 2016 election, indicating which Chapters exercised their voting privilege, is posted to the chapters leader area in Connect. ORGANIZATIONSIn the Organizational Membership election three candidates were available for two open Trustee seats. In the election, the vote of each organizational member has a weight of between 1 and 6 based on the membership category.Each voter had two votes.Desiree Miloshevic received 202 weighted votes out of the 240 weighted votes cast. Harish Pillay received 94 weighted votes out of the 240 weighted votes cast.The other candidate received less than this number of votes.  For further reference:In the 2016 Election, 79 out of 114 Chapters (69.3 %), and 75 out of 132 Organizational Members (56.8 %) voted. The results will be finalized and officially announced Monday, 9 May 2016. Challenges can be lodged between now and Monday, 2 May 2016 at 15:00 UTC, by email to the President of the Internet Society, Kathy Brown <brown at isoc.org> with a recital of the reasons for the challenge. The President, after consultation with the Chairs of the Nominations and Elections Committees and the members of the Board of Trustees, shall advise the author of the challenge of the Board's decision within 4 days following the end of the challenge period.
