Dear Cherkaoui Leghris,


Thank you for the raising these questions, please find bellow my answers :


- How do you see the future development of ISOC chapters?


Empowering and developing the chapters should be more considered as a strategic objective on ISOC, the Organization can provide support and assistance to the local which will lead to the development of the chapter and achieve ISOC Internet development objectives at a country level. This could be done in different ways, I list few examples :


1) Capacity building and awareness to the Chapter's leadership and members on the current and future emerging internet policy and technical issues


2) Support the chapters in conducting its local activities ( e.g funding, project supports, ..etc )


On the Chapter's side, its important as well that the chapters build relationships with its local internet community stakeholders, the Chapter can develop local programs and activities based on partnership with local sponsors and partners ( e.g Telecom operators and Universities ).


- Would there be more involvement of the chapters in the Internet future direction ?


The Chapters should have an input and provide comments on the current and future internet policy debates, the Internet is currently facing several global policy challenges, the chapters feedback to ISOC's Board and management enable both to have a local prospective which will be useful and meaningful in the global internet policy debate.


ISOC engagement on the local internet issues through its chapters is also important, it enables ISOC to supporting the Internet development at a local/country level.


- ISOC could have more visibility on the chapters activities for more impact on the Internet community ?


Agree, An active participation of ISOC staff and management at the chapters activities will support the local chapters development, local INET events or specific policy sessions should be encouraged.
