Why is the US so fixated on wired technology (DSL/Cable/Fibre)?

Wireless 3G/4G has overtaken fixed for low volume, low cost applications 
but doesn't seem to be considered by you. For example, I pay ~USD 5 a 
month for my 4G connection, and it often outperforms by ADSL connection. 
Also, lower income people are likely to not have a fixed address, and 
would use a phone to access Internet
