Dear Friends,
A very special event, the Marconi Society Symposium, is taking place
tomorrow in London at the Royal Society. I will be onsite to livestream the
event to you! Of all the events we cover, this is one of the most
interesting and insightful. You can tune-in tomorrow at 8:45am BST (3:45am
EDT) at

This year, the event honors Peter Kirstein, often referred to as "the father
of the European Internet", whose tireless advocacy and pioneering technical
contributions helped bring the Internet not only to Europe but to India and
Asia. Among the speakers will be such luminaries as Prof. Dame Wendy Hall,
Managing Director of the Web Science Trust; Cambridge Professor Ross
Anderson, an international expert in cyber security; Robert Kahn,
co-inventor of the TCP/IP protocol and Chairman/CEO of CNRI; Thibaut
Kleiner, Director IoT-CEC; Prof. Jun Murai, an expert in global computer
networking at Japan's Keio University and President of the WIDE Internet
project; and Vint Cerf, co-inventor of TCP/IP protocol and vice president of
Google.
The program also features Chris Greer, Director of the NIST Smart Grid and
Cyber-Physical Systems Program Office and National Coordinator for Smart
Grid Interoperability, Rob Van Kranenburg, Founder of the IoT Council;
Qualcomm EVP Matt Grob, Steve Hratko of Ruckus Wireless; Jane Holl Lute,
President and CEO of the Council on CyberSecurity; Prof. Luis Munoz of the
University of Cantabria; Andy Reid, Chief Network Services Architect at
British Telecom, and Prof. Antonio Skarmeta, University of Murcia.
Presented in four sessions, the program explores future network approaches
and interoperability issues, IoT infrastructure requirements, digital
objects, big data, security and privacy, and discusses large-scale pilots
taking place.
Don't miss this very special event!
Best regards,
Paul Brigner
