I support the Chile chapter formation having met some of the leaders at NetMundial. I also defer to Alejandro’s experience working with them.

We are convinced that a Chilean Chapter of ISOC is a great way to work with the local Internet community to improve the understanding of the Internet, capacity building in IT matters, spread the use of Internet in different parts of the country and improve the knowledge of different topics about the culture in the country.
We feel we could have the opportunity to bring to different stakeholders the power to be visible on the net, and include the country in the globalization development.
D. Outline of key priorities for the first year of Chapter
We expect to carry out a campaign in order to gather more people to be interested in participating in ISOC-CL , and explain to them the goals of the Internet Society and all the ways that they can participate, in local and international fields. Organize an assembly to receive from the community their feelings about what areas of IT and Internet in general, are possible to work about, and with this information design a roadmap for the first year.
