[Chapter-delegates] Chapter Advisory Council

Besides the +1 to John and Evan, to staff, and the many individuals who gave valuable comments, I would like to reinforce the notion that the Chapter Advisory Council is not your only voice to the Board. We are all available, individually or collectively, to hear your ideas.

Dear Chapter Leaders,

Thank you so much for the message!

I would like to add a word of thank you to the Board of Trustees for their help and support in the approval process of the Charter and for their overall support of the Chapter Advisory Council. 
 
For your records, here’s the exact wording of the resolution:
 
RESOLVED that the e-vote held April 4 to 11, 2015 to approve the Chapters Advisory Council charter is ratified. The e-vote passed unanimously. The resolution in the e-vote was:
 
WHEREAS, the Board accepted the petition to proposed Charter; and
WHEREAS, the proposed charter was reviewed by the Chapter leaders and by ISOC counsel and revised based on their comments;
RESOLVED, that the Board approves the revised charter for an ISOC Chapters Advisory Council and directs the staff to facilitate the establishment of the Chapters Advisory Council.
 
 
What This Means
 
This resolution means Chapter members will be able to bring advice and recommendations to the Internet Society Board of Trustee’s via an appointed representative.

I am pleased to announce that the ISOC Board of Trustees has approved the Charter of the Chapter Advisory Council. The board and I think this is a very important step for chapters and ISOC as a whole.  We are looking forward to working with the Chapter Advisory Council.
