[Chapter-delegates] Application to form the Internet Society Chapter on Internet of Food

I strongly suggest that before moving to approve this type of “Chapter”, there should be discussion of whether this sort of a special interest body is really appropriate for the Chapter structure. If there already has been an examination in depth of the issues raised, I would suggest there still needs to be some guidelines and limits on what sort of interests are appropriate for Chapter status.
I myself feel that it would be better to create an additional type of ISOC entity that could be focused on specific interests. I note that I am fully supportive of creating groups within ISOC to focus on specific interest, such as the Internet of Things, Accessibility. Parallels can be found in other organizations. The “Interest Councils” can then be very effective in creating liaisons with the Chapters to encourage participation and interest in their area of interest.
Chapters strength comes from their having at their core a geographic base. I would not like to dilute that.
