Folks

The Internet Society is streaming and ISOC members can register for free
for the Marconi Society Symposium, October 2 in D.C. The "Marconi's" are
the Nobel Prize of communication and a dozen of the best engineers in the
world will be there. Live event http://bit.ly/MSDCREG webcast

On the program will be Bob Kahn & Vint Cerf (TCP-IP and much more),
Marty Cooper (built the first cell phone), Len Kleinrock (connected the
first node of what became the Internet), John Cioffi ("Father of DSL") and
many of their peers. Vint and Len will be be on the 2 p.m. session, *Internet
2025: Can we keep it open and evolving?*

The morning sessions could change the entire debate on spectrum because
they point to a remarkable increase in wireless capacity if policy is
wise. The first features Stanford's Paulraj, the inventor of MIMO and this
year's Marconi Fellow, on *MIMO 2025: A 10x or 100x Capacity Multiplier?*
At 11:30, Cooper leads *MIMO 2025: A 10x or 100x Capacity Multiplier? *The
engineers are confident smart choices will allow caps on wireless to go
from today's 2-10 gigabytes/month to dozens and probably hundreds of
gigabytes. Many leading policy people are also attending and I hope this
strengthens the important discussion between engineers and policy leaders.

Thanks to Paul Brigner at ISOC for the stream. Do join us. Live event
