[Chapter-delegates] Your platform to Communicate, Participate and Collaborate: Connect!

ISOC is kind of the opposite of Zuckerberg's "move fast, and break things"
credo. It moves slowly and tries not to break things. :) Thus it is
unlikely Chapter-delegates will go anywhere anytime soon. :)
Plus, the general idea these days is that one should use whatever channels
work for anyone, and do one's best to integrate them, so everybody is
reached.
As we know on fb, anytime zuck pulls one of his moves there is an initial
howl of protest, until people become accustomed to the (hopefully) fresh
utility - after which presumably there would be howls of protest if it were
removed.
But, one thing I do know, anytime there is an unrequested spike in email
volume you are going to get a LOT of negative reaction. Perhaps this is
good, sort the wheat from the chaff - we are supposed to be a society after
all! - but my feeling is that treading should be done carefully. All
features should be very much opt-in rather than opt-out. And video
tutorials on best practices, e.g. how to set up filters in order to to keep
a clean inbox, yet avoid wading through lengthy digests, published and
promoted.
Fernando Zarur and team have shown great responsiveness in adjusting the
platform as it moves forward. Unlike previous similar earlier efforts, this
one does have a fair chance of succeeding.
