[Chapter-delegates] ISOC submission to call for input on ICANN draft IANA process

Konstantinos,

thanks for this submission. I understand it is now closed and submitted.

When you say "We look forward to working with ISOC members and engaging in
a substantive dialogue on the issues as the process unfolds in the coming
months." I don't think you really mean it.

This statement is of such import and has had time enough to develop that
broader consultation within ISOC would have been desirable and possible.

Maybe many among us could have been convinced that ISOC's position has to
be strictly backing the IETF/IAB and RIRs' roles regarding IANA.

But it could also happen that some think that ISOC could play a larger
stewardship role for the health of the IANA transition process. Maybe also
part of that role could be defined in a globally acceptable form with input
from ISOC members and chapters. It could happen that this statement is a
hard sell to our members.

As it happens, also, 40 of the 100 ISOC Chapters are At Large structures
(ALS) and could carry to the At Large community a message they shared by
having been part of its construction, as well as inform ISOC's own process.

It is standard practice to end a message with a constructive proposal or a
joke. I'll end this one with a paraphrasis of a film title: "the anxiety of
the Chapter representative before the HQ statement."
