Hi Ted,
Thank you for sharing this note. It has come very early in Kathy's
tenure as CEO.
Obviously this is intended as technocratic and largely for eyes of "the
staff" but I think it was wise to share more broadly as it contains some
directional priorities which could be interpreted as at odds with some
open Internet principles.
In particular item three by using the word 'core' if interpreted as
enhancing intelligence in the core of the networks at the expense of the
edges would be a very contentious objective.
If what is meant is ISOC will prioritise extending availability of
Internet connectivity along with participation in Internet management
and governance decision making around the world; that would not be
contentious architecturally.
