[Chapter-delegates] ISOC NGL and Ambassador Programme

Hi Cintra,

Thanks a lot for bringing this issue. I was surprised to know that there
will be no ISOC Ambassador fellowship this year. I was advising many of
our chapter members to apply for this. This is simply shocking to me
knowing there will be none this year.

The fellowship is often the only opportunity by which people from
developing country can take part in IGF. I am not aware of any other
fellowship for IGF. We are talking about more inclusive IGF, yet we run out
of budget for supporting few fellows.

Being one of the previous ISOC ambassadors representing Bangladesh at the
IGF, I can honestly admit that participating at this event in person is
hugely beneficial in compare to other conferences where remote
participating is a viable option. In fact, I learnt a whole lot of things
and made numerous contacts. The experience at the IGF has been instrumental
in shaping the Dhaka Chapters activities. I think people who are leading
fledgling chapters can understand the long term value of this type of
fellowship.

Very frustrating indeed!

Thanks
Faisal Hasan
