Dear Members,

The WSIS+10 High-Level Event continued Wednesday and resulted in the adoption of the WSIS+10 Review Outcome Document, which was negotiated over the past year through a multistakeholder process.

The Outcome is comprised of two parts: a Statement on the Implementation of WSIS Outcomes since 2005, and a Vision for WSIS Beyond 2015. It covers a wide range of issues, and includes many acknowledgements of the value of multistakeholder cooperation in achieving the WSIS targets. It also recognizes that offline Human Rights should be applicable online, including freedom of expression.

The document is available in all 6 UN languages here: http://www.itu.int/wsis/implementation/2014/forum/dam/documents.html

The negotiation process has not always been easy, but all stakeholders worked together and were eventually able to agree on a common baseline that will feed the overall WSIS Review in 2015, which format is still being discussed at the UN in New York.

In light of this week's successful multistakeholder outcome, all of us need to convey the message that the process in New York should be open and inclusive, reflecting the spirit of the Geneva discussions.
