Dear Members,
Starting on Monday 9 June, the Internet Society will be on-the-ground in Geneva for the 2014 World Summit on the Information Society + 10 High Level Event: http://www.itu.int/wsis/implementation/2014/forum/
Our President & CEO, Ms. Kathy Brown, will be on site delivering important messages for the Internet Society and the technical community.
We will also organize several workshops, covering issues such as spam, development, Internet governance or the open Internet. More information here: http://www.internetsociety.org/events/internet-society-workshops-wsis
This event will evaluate the last 10 years since the UN convened the original WSIS summit that brought countries together to build an inclusive and development-oriented Information Society - where everyone can create, access, utilize and share information. The event should adopt two documents that will feed the Overall Review of the WSIS, in 2015: A document on implementation of the WSIS in the past 10 years, and a Vision for WSIS beyond 2015.
What can we learn from the last decade? How can we do better in the next 10 years to come?
Our team will be on-the-ground defending an Internet that is open, borderless and multistakeholder. We believe these are key elements of its past success and future sustainability. And we will certainly need your support to deliver this message.
