+1 I've been working in several areas with people from Korea in educational, technical and government issues and certainly this will be an excellent chapter.

I also support the application of “Internet Society Republic of Korea”.
July is the month of Information Security in Republic of Korea. I have been the guest of Korean Internet and Security Agency under the cooperation of KISA and the African Internet Security Community since July 06 and I have seen a very active and strong community working together.
Best.

Hi all,
ISOC Mexico expresses support with reservations, for the ISOC Korea chapter.
Not long ago the disagreements on substance and process in key Internet governance environments were extremely divisive.
We are pleased to see a strong participation from the Korean Internet technical community and are sure that this membership will ensure a smooth transition into ISOC and will ourselves, and encourage other chapters as well as ISOC staff, to establish a particularly intense collaboration with ISOC Korea in order to benefit from the technical knowledge, innovation, and social-impact experience they embody.
It is also a good time to remind those whoe don't know it fully of the depth of the Korean Internet experience. A highly recommended reading is the book "The Internet of Elsewhere", by Cyrus Farivar, which tells the story based in large part on the work of Prof. Kilnam Chon. I hope the ISOC Chapter can continue to rely on his wisdom and foresight.
Yours,
Alejandro PIsanty

Dear Victor,
Mine was based on a scenario like the
1 WEST GERMAN and EAST GERMAN
2 R. Sudan and R. South Sudan
Now what I am saying here is in-case in future south and north Korea unites like German did what happens or in the case of R. Sudan and R.South Sudan

Dear Daniel,
Dear Sylvain,
I think there is no confusion of naming here...
"South Korea" is officially called Republic of Korea and
"North Korea" is officially Democratic People's Republic of
Korea.
Hope this clarification helps.
Best regards,
Victor.

Hi Dear
Chapter Leaders and All on
list,
My point is that as we
assume that there is two country with the
same name KOREA, it could be
good to include the term that clearly
differentiate the two (SOUTH
or NORTH). That will prevent a future
problem of naming when the
other side of KOREA will want to create
their ISOC Chapter.
Thx.
Regards,
