Hi ISOC Chapter delegates,

as you know, preparations continue for the planned Brazil meeting on
Internet governance of April, 2014. Here is a just-arrived note with
important news about the composition of the leading committees that will
steer the meeting.

You may note that Kathy Brown, as well as a couple other ISOC members, are
included.

Since a consultation from the CEO or the Board doesn't seem to be
forthcoming, and time is tight, isn't it time for the Chapters to begin
shaping a common-ground position about:

a. what we want the meeting to achieve and what are the boundaries of its
mission?

b. the part of the announced goals of the meeting in which we may be best
able to shape an outcome, the discussion of principles for Internet
governance?

Much of this discussion is taking place elsewhere - esp. on the 1Net
discussion list, with vigourous participation of ISOC members and leaders.
How can we articulate our own, ISOC, space, bottom-up, to make a
contribution?

Yours,

Alejandro Pisanty
