EuPHemistically... :)

Just read the NYT article, thanks for the tip. Not a single line which
would indicate or speculate that Glenn is "manipulating Brazil". If
there were, it would be silly, of course.

Good article. My view on asylum for Snowden in BR is that we are in the
midst of a nasty political campaign for the 2014 presidential elections,
and all evidence (including the opposition polls' and their own writers'
articles) points to Rousseff's re-election. So there is a process to
seek alternative (to put it eufemistically) means to undermine the
current government.

Lots of money (coming from incredible, billion-dollar levels of
corruption coming from the right-wing opposition state governments of
São Paulo and Minas Gerais, involving usual suspects such as Alstom,
Siemens & co.) have been poured into the main media and in the judicial
system, including the Supreme Court, to discredit the government. There
is a risk that this same court might rule for Snowden's extradiction, as
the interests of the right-wing opposition which currently controls the
court and the main media are pretty much pro-USA.

So, I am worried about Snowden's safety if Rousseff grants him asylum to
come to BR. Hope he gets an extension from Putin, and after October it
will probably be safer to come to Brazil.
