Hi all,
Let me shed some light on the membership newsletter situation.
My team is responsible for sending out the newsletter on a regular basis and I apologise that it hasn't been sent over last few months and that there has been no communication as to why.
I want to reassure you that the membership newsletter is not dead. In fact, you'll receive an edition next week and will continue to do so on a regular basis over the coming months.
The reason you haven't received any newsletters over the last few months is based on a series of miscommunications and misunderstandings within my team since Lia Kiessling's (who managed the newsletter) departure on maternity leave. I also made some false assumptions regarding the ISOC Connect newsletter. In other words, I didn't manage this very well and plan to rectify this asap.
The goal is to actually improve the process behind the newsletter, and allow subscribers greater flexibility when it comes to information they wish to receive. This is why the new blog was mentioned as a way to help with this flexibility. However, based on your feedback, it's clear that we should take smaller steps towards these type of improvements.
I will organise a webinar shortly to discuss these ideas further and to ensure that we have a forum to exchange ideas.
Moving forward, please send any contributions for the newsletter to Fernando Zarur (zarur at isoc.org) who will manage it while Lia is on maternity leave.
Again, apologies for the lack of communications around this and any frustration this has caused.
Best regards,
Dan Graham
