Dear Friends and Colleagues:

We are very glad that our call to create Task Force/Steering Group of Chapter leaders to design a "Chapters Advisory Council" for the Internet Society for approval by the Board of Trustees has elicited such an enthusiastic response. Individuals representing more than 40 Chapters from all the Society's regions have responded positively in recent days. 

For the purposes of creating the Task Force, the response has been more than adequate.

The three Co-Conveners propose to proceed as follows:

1.    We will circulate a list of those who have volunteered for the Task Force to the Chapters Delegates list.

2.    There will be an email list and Website for the Task Force's work.

3.    There will be an initial meeting scheduled in November for the members of the Task Force by ISOC Webex to discuss to discuss an agenda and a time-line/calendar for its work, and to appoint a representative drafting group within the Task Force that would coordinate creating proposed drafts for consideration and comment by the whole Task Force.  
  
It is our intent that the broader Chapters Delegates List be kept informed of the progress of the Task Force and have an opportunity to comment on any draft proposal for the Council before it is presented to the Board of Trustees for action.

We are pleased to inform you that Joyce Dogniez from ISOC staff will be the point person working with the Task Force. She has confirmed that this project will have the benefit of the practical support of the ISOC staff.
