Yes, it cost us thousands of dollars to register (originally) and each
year we have to pay similar amounts in audit fees, send it off to the
corporate regulator etc It is worth it, however, as it does keep us
scrupulously transparent. It just means we have to make sure we raise
enough to cover it as well as do all the things we want to do!

That works well :-) No need to duplicate when you can use others!
We've had great partnerships with IEEE's SSIT (social responsibility in
technology - I think!) as well as the telecommunications society and the
institute of engineers in Australia. Also industry and manufacturing
groups. Between the groups it increases those that attend. You just have
to share any profits!
