Dear Chapter Delegates,

Today, we will roll out the second phase of what we are now calling an “Internet Collaborative Stewardship Framework”. This was previously called an "Internet Issues Taxonomy".

The goal of this activity is to inform discussions on the "Internet challenges" confronting all of us. The framework is intended to foster thinking about different classifications of challenges and hence different solution paths. This next phase is where we need your help. We all need to identify roles and stakeholders for each classification in order to help the global community identify possible paths forward for Internet Governance.

The updated draft provides examples for the “Roles and stakeholders” and some “Example actions” in the first classification: "Connecting Needs and Resources". The draft leaves open them open for the remainder of the classifications.

The immediate goal for our outreach is to solicit input form the broadest possible community to help complete this framework, particularly to get input on the roles that need to be undertaken and with which stakeholders.

Our website has been updated to emphasize this “ask” —and the page is comment-enabled, so please jump in and let us know what you think. This is a living document expected to evolve.

We are sharing the framework with our community today, and publicly beginning tomorrow (Wednesday, November 20th) encouraging people in our community and beyond to share their input at:

The framework document is linked from this page, and is also available directly here:

Finally, this framework will help us to promote and advance an open and strong Internet, and it is aligned with our Open and Sustainable Internet campaign.

Questions, comments, and suggestions are all very welcome.

Thank you to all who helped this happen so quickly. It is proving a real benefit to the Internet Governance discussions at hand today.

Best regards.

Lynn
