Dear all,

just 4 lines to explain what are we doing and it's taking all our
available time (apologies for not having yet followed up with Chapter
support budget, not enough time, that's why we need more local logistic
support, we cannot be running the chapter and discussing IG policies at
the same time)

Activities were also added into the common calendar
http://www.internetsociety.org/events/events-calendar/submit-event
and will be sent to the newsletter

- May 21st: "L'estratègia SmartCity de Barcelona" (Barcelona's
smart-city strategy). With Barcelona's current CIO (Dr. Manel Sanromà,
former ISOC-CAT president and ISOC Board member 99-02), the previous
CIO, and a project manager from the directorate office of Barcelona's
ICT strategy
http://isoc.cat (brief wrap up in CAT but Google translator should do
the work). FYI, interesting to note they are creating the CityProtocol
Society inspired by ISOC aims and structures (local chapters, standards,
etc)

- June 8th: Cryptoparty
A BYOD workshop to explain the basic tools and habits to secure a bit
more our privacy, data and devices against profiling, theft and intrusion.
http://cryptoparty.cat
Our plan is to run it 2 or 3 times to smooth edges, adjust timing,
content, etc, and offer our slides and labs in CC so all chapters can
replicate it if they wish to do so. This is an area were, under the
digital identity and responsible use of the Internet, Chapters can
locally lead and have great impact and reconnaissance.

- June 11th: What is Anonymous. Conference by Catalan Polytechnic
University professor of Computer Science who is also studying how that
group works as a distributed system and its impact on Society.
No broadcast. If there is a lot of interest I can ask him about a
session in English in near future.

- July 24th: guided visit to Barcelona Supercomputing Center for members
and friends.

And now working on the ones for Fall.
Feedback welcome

to be continued
