Hello all,

Christopher, Veni and Christian -thanks for bringing up your points.
Most of your points were already covered by other answers, I would only like to add one remark:

The bylaws-working group was created by the board (resolution 13-02) in January of this year only
(it is not identical to the workgroup having done the bylaws work in the preceding two years)
The bylaws-working group as it is chartered now has a very narrow set of activities.
The workgroup shall only fill the gaps still existing in the proposal which was created by earlier work.
The group met two times so far to discuss how to fill in the identified open points in the bylaws proposal.
The text of bylaws which was used as starting point was still the same as has been published as proposed new bylaws last summer.
The open points were collected from the input in summer and second half of last year from members and chapters which have been summarized and published by staff.
The group has produced a list of proposals, some with multiple possible choices, to be discussed and decided upon during the board meeting in Beijing last month.
Currently we are waiting on some additional lawyer review and a final checking if all the board's decision were correctly understood and taken into account.
The results will then be put into the context of the bylaws text.

When results are presentable to the community, they will be distributed
Be assured that we did our outermost to include all the received comments in the resulting proposals and will again make sure all essentials, including your recent points, are visible in the resulting text.
But also keep in mind that not everything can and needs to be written bit by bit in the bylaws -
the whole system needs to be flexible and workable and must give the needed guarantees to all parties involved at the same time.

Please have a little more patience and confidence in the process, I am pretty sure that the changed bylaws will bring a lot of improvements not only for chapters but for the whole Internet Society.
