No, what's embarrassing is that you have to ask every year ISOC for the same
goal. 
Why wouldn't ISOC say, "Gee, you have the same conditions, and they are not
changing. Let's have a program to support your face to face meeting. Here's
an endowment for that purpose".  
Then, if they don't give you funding, that will be embarrassing;-)
