[Chapter-delegates] Information from the Trustees

Dear All,

The Board Trustees and the Internet Society executive team held a joint
retreat February to review strategic directions for the future of the
Internet Society. Some of the issues raised by Chapters over the past
years have bearing on the ISOC strategic directions so therefore we also
included these issues in our discussion.

The Internet Society and it's community work is guided by principles and
values striving for the vision of the "Internet is for Everyone".
The mission is stated on http://www.internetsociety.org/who-we-are/mission.

The Trustees would also like to emphazise that we believe that the
Chapters are an integral part of our global organization. At the same
time, the Trustees and staff realize that there remains work to do to
increase engagement with and support for Chapters.

With the aim of ensuring that ISOC and it´s Chapters all have the same
understanding and can work cooperatively together, the Trustees have
asked the executive team to report back to the Trustees on staff´s
efforts to further align ISOC´s and Chapters activities as a basis for
continuing the discussions.

The Trustees also concludes that information need to flow both
directions to ensure success for both Chapters working on local level as
well as ISOC working on a global level.
