Despite all the backlash, Google are just being innovative, and I commend
them. There is any monopoly, Google is just leading the way. If successful,
the activity could help provide Internet to rural villages. Internet
connectivity is a challenge in some countries and as we embark on ambitious
free laptops for primary school children schools in rural Kenya stand to
benefit. To some, this research is welcome, priorities differ and other
issues appear secondary and can be pursued later. However, this suggestion
need not be construed as an act of complacency.
