Greetings,

Please allow me to convey are deepest condolences and solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the two chapters - ISOC South Africa and Gauteng, on the passing of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela! 

We, in The Gambia, and indeed the rest of Africa, feel especially proud to have an affinity to this giant who toiled for freedom on this African soil.  Africa's gift to the world, Mandela, is a testimony of the triumph of the human spirit. 

While we, as members of the Internet Society cherish and value 'Internet Freedom', let us remind ourselves lest we forget, that it is human beings, societies, governments, nations and their humanism that is invariably reflected on the internet.

May the spirit of Madeba be reflected on the Internet!
