[Chapter-delegates] Invitation: Webinar on WTPF: Overview of the proposals up for discussion (English, Spanish and French)

Dear Colleagues, 

In addition to the information you just received from Sally,  we would like to invite you to a webinar organized for Chapter leaders on the current state of preparations for the 2013 World Telecommunications Policy Forum (WTPF) to be held in Geneva 14-16 May with the informal Strategic Dialogue session focusing on Broadband to be held on 13 May.

As you probably know, WTPF’s focus this year is on the Internet framed by the three ITU Resolutions listed below: 
• Resolution 101 - Internet Protocol-based networks
• Resolution 102 - ITU’s role with regard to international public policy issues pertaining to the Internet and the management of Internet resources, including domain names and addresses
• Resolution133 - Role of administrations of Member States in the management of internationalized (multilingual) domain names
The WCIT-12 ITR Resolution 3 “To foster an enabling environment for the greater growth of the Internet” regarding the ITUs role and the Internet will also be discussed.

While WTPF is a non-binding ITU event – the outcome consists of the Secretary-General’s Report and a series of agreed to non-binding “Opinions”.  Though the outcome is non-binding, past experience tells us that the WTPF dialogue and outputs do shape the ITU preparations for its future conferences, such as the 2014 the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference.
