the 2013 Accelerator program.

Over the past couple of years there has been increasing momentum and energy
around the civic startup space. Governments are looking for new tools
and entrepreneurs are looking for new markets — and government technology
is a $140 billion market.

*How does it work?*
Starting in August the four month program will turbo-charge the selected
startups by providing *$25k*, *mentorship*, and *access to a broad network
of VC's, tech leaders, and governments*.

*What's a  civic startup?*
A civic startup is a startup that creates technology to enhance government
and the communities they serve. In last year's Accelerator class we had
companies who developed everything from community disaster management tools
supporting the Hurricane Sandy victims to APIs for America's education
system.
