Dear Chapter-Delegates,
The 2013 Internet Society Board of Trustees elections has kicked off!! Please see:<http://www.internetsociety.org/who-we-are/board-trustees/trustee-elections> for information on the election, bios of the candidates, etc.
In order to encourage dialogue and participation by all members, the Election Committee has assembled a set of questions so that candidates can share their perspectives on a variety of issues. Their responses will be available on the Candidates Elections Forum site (blog) at: https://www.internetsociety.org/apps/wp/elections2013/. We hope ISOC members will read these and consider carefully the choice before them.
Electronic ballots were sent to voting representatives on 22 April, 2013 officially marking the start of the elections period. Voting representatives/delegates will have up until the close of 23 May 2013 to cast their votes. Additional information on the ISOC Board of Trustees Elections as well as a list of the candidates can be found here: http://www.internetsociety.org/who-we-are/board-trustees/trustee-elections
There are five candidates for our organizational members to consider. These include two incumbents, Eva Frölich and Jason Livingood, and three new candidates, Lee Howard, Désirée Miloshevic and Patrick Ryan. Please read their profiles at <http://www.internetsociety.org/who-we-are/board-trustees/trustee-elections/2013/candidates>. Of these, in keeping with our bylaws, the two candidates with the most votes will be elected to full terms (August 2013 - 2016).
We also have four candidates for the chapter members to consider. These include one incumbent, Narelle Clark, and three new candidates, Dr. Gregory Bell, Dr. Demi Getschko and Maureen Hilyard. Please read their profiles at <http://www.internetsociety.org/who-we-are/board-trustees/trustee-elections/2013/candidates>. Of these, in keeping with our bylaws, the candidate with the most votes will be elected to a full term (August 2013 - 2016).
Please do read the Candidates Election Forum, and vote before May 23rd. It is important!
Best regards,
Rudi Vansnick
