Dear Jaceck , dear Ted,
In order to focus on WCIT, our chapter have no particular business or activity connected to this ICann meeting.
I doubt that Isoc chapters will have any interest or priority in the second topic (gTld ). witch is purley internal ICANN matter.
Yes , some chapters can act as Icann at large support (we may join as well ) , but in Europe , Romania , our priority is IPV6/DNSSEC
for our national .ro CCTLD, rather than discuss informally (without any outcome, since ISOC has no decision power on Gtld policies).

We pare particularty worried about the insufficient funding for Community grants programme.
As an example, we have had last round a huge demand, (a dozen of project ideas), we selected 3 , dupported by our chapter , and won none , dissapointing not only our members, but also the partner institutions that we confinced to co-finance the projects (focused on Ipv6, Education and Mobility ).

We would appreciate to focus on real issues (we think community grants is an important one). At least , it will aloow us not to loose existing members (in absence of a consistent growth policy with adequate instruments ).

As an example , in Romania , the sindication of funds for NGO's among several donors works well, the most succesful one is CEE Civil society TRUST (Soros + Ford + Rockefeller syndicated fund ) :http://www.ceetrust.org/grants-database/in-country-grants/romania.html

In conclusion , our proposal would be to skip point 2 and replace it with : "Community grants syndication" .
Best regards,
Ed

Subiect: Re: [Chapter-delegates] Topics to be discussed during	Chapter/Member meeting on 16.10.2012 in Toronto

Dear Chapter Delegates,

As mentioned earlier, during the Chapter/Member meeting on 16.10.2012 in Toronto we would like to discuss max. 3 (due to limited time) topics interesting for Chapters world-wide. Following topics have been suggested, within the given deadline:

1. - Synchronization of Chapter activities on WCIT issues
2. - New gTLD program is it a hit or a miss?
3. - Enabling chapters to be more active on specific topics, aside those prioritized by ISOC global;
4. - What are the priorities of action and focus of the chapters for the next 12 months ?

We would like you to vote (deadline Friday, 5.10.2012) for the 3 topics out of those 4 suggested above. If you vote for topic #4, please name
max. 3 of your Chapter's priorities of action.

Your choice will allow us to invite relevant Subject Matter Experts to our Toronto meeting.

Please note, that we are planning to launch our bi-annual Chapter Survey in November 2012, so your input will be used in fine-tuning of Survey.

With best regards,

Jacek Gajewski
Chapter Development Manager
