As you may be aware, 2012 is a big year for Internet public policy.   
In 2012, the ITU will host the World Conference on ITRs, a treaty- 
conference, that will renegotiate the 1988 treaty, the International  
Telecommunication Regulations. ISOC is following this process closely  
and participating and making our views known wherever possible.  Many  
ISOC Chapters are also very active at the local and national level in  
working with their governments and promoting the ISOC principles.

To facilitate the exchange of information amongst ISOC Chapters and  
with the ISOC staff on WCIT, we have set up a mailing list for

ISOC is attending the global preparatory meetings as well as many of  
the Regional meetings - we circulate notes and reflections on that  
process to this list and try to make as much information as we can  
gather at the global and regional level to Chapters.   We also share  
our inputs to the meetings and other documents that may be of  
interest.  The feedback thus far has been very positive.
