Dear Colleagues,
Last year we asked for your help in providing content for a "Chapter Toolkit -Tools for Advancing IPv6 Deployment” to showcase the diverse range of activities that Chapters are involved in to help promote the deployment of IPv6 and to leverage our collective expertise to help each other.
Unfortunately, the work was not completed as planned, since Wendy Rickard had to take a medical leave. We are happy to report that Wendy is now on her way to recovery. She will, however, not be continuing with this project for us. (Thank you Wendy for all your great work!).
As you may know, 2012 is an extremely important year for the deployment of IPv6, with the challenge of the "World IPv6 Launch" on 6 June 2012 (see: http://www.worldipv6launch.org/) and beyond... so
WE NEED YOUR HELP
In order to make the toolkit truly useful to Chapter leaders and members, we would like to find out what other types of activities Chapters have engaged in to advance and promote IPv6, so that this can be shared and leveraged by the Chapter community. By helping promote the need to deploy IPv6, your Chapter can raise it’s profile in its local community.
Below is a partial list of the types of projects and activities related to IPv6 delpoyment that your Chapter may have conducted or been involved in:
* Public awareness campaigns (other than World IPv6 Day)
* Creation and dissemination of written documents
* One-off meetings / presentations
* Anything else!
If your Chapter has engaged in these or other types of activities to promote IPv6 deployment, please email Gerard Ross <gerard.ross at mac.com> to let him know what you have done and what the outcomes have been. The *deadline for content submission is April 30th 2012*.
The resulting toolkit will complement the other toolkits which are located at: http://www.internetsociety.org/who-we-are/chapters/start/chapter-resources, namely:
* "Tools for Mobilising Volunteers"
* "Tools for Unravelling the Net Neutrality / Open Internetworking debate"
* "Tools for Educating and Influencing Policymakers"
* "Tools for Leveraging the Next Generation Leaders Programme"
All the toolkits are available in Spanish, English and French. If you have ideas for other toolkits, please let us know.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks!
Christine
