[Chapter-delegates] It's in the wild..

Dear Elena Zvarici,
The discussions in our Chapter list is alright, though it is a publicly
archived list, the debate is internal and despite the views expressed, it
is healthy. But I am somewhat surprised at the 'coverage' of this
appointment in various blogs and in the news media. I have a feeling that
this appointment is getting at least a little more than due attention,
which indicates that at least some of the external criticism is
orchestrated and borders on propaganda.
I don't know Paul Beringer, so I am not trying to defend the appointment
here, but wonder if there is a possibility that the Copyright and
Intellectual Property Lobby has become uncomfortable with Paul's decision
to become a part of the Internet Society and as typical of their ways,
engage in a propaganda that would indirectly weaken Internet Society's and
Paul's resolve in adhering to this appointment.
This is just a thought, some of the concerns expressed in this list arise
from Chapter Delegates, more in the nature of seeking an explanation or
assurance from ISOC that the choice is right. But some of the external
press coverage happens to be in the nature of a categorical assertion that
the Internet Society has done something very wrong, that something has gone
wrong with the Internet Society, and there is one report after another,
some of which perhaps designed to add up to a reversal of this decision
either by ISOC or by Paul.
Paul could some day tell us if this campaign is part of the methods of
operations which makes Business Lobbies so strong and successful in their
pursuits.
