Please note that the Chapter is not yet formed and has not officially been recognised by the Internet Society.

A. Proposed name of the Chapter
Internet Society Pakistan Islamabad Chapter  

B. Community of Interest the Chapter will serve
The chapter will serve the community belonging to Islamabad and surrounding area(s); non-exclusive basis".  

C. Purpose and scope of Chapter
The purpose of ISOC Pakistan Islamabad Chapter will be to serve the interest of local community while focusing on the issues of local relevance related with Internet education, policy, standards and security. 

The following would be the scope of the chapter.
•	Promoting Internet access among community of interest (geographical area).
•	Promoting education, awareness and capacity building for Internet issues including the next generation of technologies and protocols.
•	Building partnership with multi-stakeholders including but not limited to government,   private sector and civil society.
•	Encouraging local content and services development.
•	Identifying opportunities to utilize Internet for social and economical development.
•	Running as a Not-for-Profit organization / society with open, transparent and competitive basis under an aim to serve the community.

G. Membership

Our efforts will be to outreach various segments of the community especially during our first year to establishment to create necessary awareness about Internet Society and invite members to join the Chapter. We would be seeking necessary assistance from the available chapter materials from ISOC Global. Moreover, our primary purpose will be to engage youth in the process and provide them strength and confidence towards chapter goals and activities.  We are quite fortunate to already capture attention of more than 75 volunteers during our chapter establishment efforts over the past 10 months. We would carry out a monthly chapter meeting on regular basis as we look forward to invite members from multi-stakeholders groups.  

Our proposed Membership details are as follows:

Individual Members – Free (non-voting member)
Student Members – PKR 100 per year (Voting Member)
Professional Members – PKR 1000 per year (Voting Member)
Organizational Members – PKR 5000 per year (Voting Member)

H. List of requirements
 
There are no mandatory requirements of registration from the local Authorities. However, the chapter community has decided to get the necessary registration performed with Islamabad Capital Territory Administration.

I. Additional information
 
ISOC Pakistan Islamabad Chapter (In-formation) is a result of rejuvenation of ISOC Pakistan Chapter. The rejuvenation process which had been carried out as a result of community members participation has resulted in establishing city/provincial based chapters in Pakistan. The community at Islamabad has carried out a number of meetings / discussions over the past 10 months as a result of which the community has been able to finalize the initial chapter applications. We look forward to play our contributions to overall core principles and goals of Internet Society as a vibrant, open and inclusive chapter.
