[Chapter-delegates] Special Invitation to Global INET 2012

Hi All,

I confess I have not been keeping up with the posts so please excuse me if
my remarks may be redundant or inappropriate.

I heartily agree with Veni. I had been championing the cause of the
chapters going way back to when ISOC's leadership did not seem to
understand the importance of the tole that chapters had to play, sometimes
having confront them at a public meeting during an INET, which I did on
several occasions over the years. And I have written to Ted and others of
ISOC's leadership how I have been heartened by the support chapters have
been given recently. (I am part of the Uganda ISOC chapter team.)

I'd say that if ISCO could pronounce that any chapter members who can
organize their own travel and accommodation would be welcomed to INET as a
delegate, without having to pay a conference fee, no limitation on numbers.
I think it would go a long way towards reinforcing chapter members' sense
of belonging to the ISOC family. ISOC could also assist those who require
a visa by offering to send a formal letter of invitation where necessary.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards, Daniel
