Joly, all,

we have blacked out http://isocmexico.com, one of our sites - the main is hosted in an organization whose policies are in process.

We decided to keep the site functional as it gets some traffic, and to leave a message against legislation that affects the Internet negatively in an ill-advised way while attempting to protect the commercial aspects of intellectual-property rights.

We are expressing ourselves in concern for an initiative before the Mexican Congress as well. We have been successful in recent years stopping a Federal tax on Internet access, and law initiatives which would have imposed a hefty "digital levy" and a 3-strikes process. The first of these three campaigns, #InternetNecesario, has been well documented and is studied as an example in many social-media courses here and abroad.

Let's all dedicate an effort to spread knowledge and understanding about these measures and the mentality behind them, but mostly, for the growth and innovation the Internet alone makes possible.
