User identity service - providing a basis for trusted communications eg. web, newsgroups etc, mailling lists
ID is complex multi layered service. But need some way to work out which (if any) "our" global members of chapter (around the world) on ISOC.org are bona fide! The situation now is not auditable for electoral purposes.

Email forwarding from 'Internet society' domains
Chapter has its own email domains. But having an ISOC mail delivery service for chapter mailshots (like MailChimp) would be cool

Newsgroups
Listservers? Chapter can manage its own. NB other channels (social) becoming more relevant

Webhosting (a reimbursement service is already planned to be launched by end Q1)
A grant (annual) would be welcome in particular for development, hosting, code and ops support.

Domain names
DO you mean Registrar service? I am sponsoring domains for chapter

Instant messaging forums
IRC back channels for ISOC and ISOC chapter events ?

Shared collaboration platform with ability to share and edit documents
Could be nice but not an immediate priority

Chapter/Membership portal development - replacing the current portal with a Drupal based portal
Drupal no.

Chapter/Membership API development - a membership registration form on your website automatically updating the central database
Better idea but only if bidrectional. i.e, a Sync service between chapter and ISOC membership services. Could be as a plugin such as for WordPress

Topic based mailing lists
for global and regional use (ie., for more than just one chapter) could be attractive for members.

Remote conferencing eg. Webex
Useful if event development support and training provided

Issue Tracking Tool eg. https://mantis.tools.isoc.org/
Yes

Other (please specify)
Mobile is important and sites and services must support large to small screens "out the box"
Prioritising.
1/ Support Chapter self serve facilities
2/ Seed open source for (free software) development and facilities
3/ Share all Seeds
4/ Seed a synchronisation service between ISOC and chapter membership databases.
5/ Co-ordinate and support access to key delivery services such as - bulk email delivery - (SIP) Voice /Video / Conference bridges, and pool of A-Z termination services, XMPP messaging etc

Remembering
That chapters have people who can implement and project manage these activities. ISOC Staff are best placed to act to co-ordinate and secretariat.

>>
>> Over the last week or so, there have been a number of postings to this list concerning the need for communications and IT tools to support chapters and chapter and member collaboration. We would like to follow up on these postings. So a first step is to ask those who are interested in this topic to complete a very short survey which contains only 4 questions. This will be a starting point to giving us input from a broader section of the Chapter community, along with a sense of the priorities.

>> The deadline for responses is February 10th. We apologise for the short deadline. There is an internal planning meeting on February 8th-9th and we would like to be able to use some of the information from the survey at that meeting. We would like to emphasize that this is an ongoing conversation and that we will be reaching out to you for your input and help as we go forward.
