Dear colleagues,

We are happy to announce that the Internet Society US New York Chapter won the Internet Society’s Chapter Challenge between 1 February to 30 April 2011 by recruiting the most new members for their Chapter.

The New York Chapter will therefore be the first to be showcased on the new Internet Society website that will be launched later this year. A Chapter showcase will be put together in collaboration with the New York Chapter.

A big THANK YOU nevertheless goes to all of you for your continued efforts to recruit new members, thanks to which, the Internet Society’s membership grew by more than 2,500 new members between 1 February and 30 April 2011. This is a great result! 

Other Chapter showcases will follow this first example, so please don’t hesitate to contact us at <chapter-support at isoc.org> if your Chapter would be interested in working with us on putting together a creative Chapter profile, highlighting your local activities and success stories.

We are also happy to announce the three winners of the lucky prize draw at the end of the Internet Society’s first ever Membership Challenge:

·      Victor Besliu, Republic of Moldova

·      Nishantha Weerakoon, Sri Lanka
