Thanks, Joly. Interesting and useful to know. I am very pro-business in general, but I am always wary of dominant industry players funding supposedly independent institutes, in any country.
Assuming the institute would be run by independent people, I would have suggested including the word "social" or "societal" besides just legal in:
"(1) Internet based innovation, (2) Internet policy, and (3) related legal aspects"
... considering their name, mission and subsequent examples include "Society."
A few other ideas come to mind, but this is just an initial thought to share.
