All

this is the proposal I have put to the Board of the Australian Chapter
proposing that it co-ordinate the activities for Australia's
contribution to World IPv6 Day. It is not yet approved, nor committed
to, but I thought I'd share it as a basis for others to think on,
discuss, improve etc and apply to your own contexts.

[Thanks Anne for the suggestion to do this]

Proposal
that ISOC-AU co-ordinate the Australian activities for World IPv6 Day

through:
- establishment of a register of participants (aim minimum 15)
- education of participants and interested parties
- assistance of participants with running up servers, advice etc
- media liaison
- publicity
- feed into global and regional activities
- event on the day

Resource requirement
1 day/wk ED
1-2 days/wk dedicated resource
? External input
in kind eg network, server loans

The resource requirement is a bit elastic in that external training
and tech support would be found and used where possible. We intend to
call for proposals from the membership organisations who provide such
services for a fee, that we would refer people to should our basic
assistance be insufficient.

Duration
April - June, 12 weeks (inc wrap up)

Cost
web updates - potentially inc in resource - $3600
dedicated resource $12,000 + GST
collateral, publicity $2,000
Hopefully worst case

Revenue
New sponsors: 5 for $5,000
New members: 10 at $900
breakfast or other event: $2,000
ISOC project funding? $2,000

Potential profit/(loss)
$11,200

(I could be dreaming)

Downside
- risk of low revenue
- nil response to first EoI on lists
- possible need for greater time than funding allows
- perceived conflict of interest with Directors
- risk of doing it badly

Thoughts?
