[Chapter-delegates] Article in the Washigton Post: "Obama administration joins critics of U.S. nonprofit group that oversees Internet"

While anything that widens awareness of ICANN issues is welcome, I am not
too impressed by Mr. Shapira's efforts. For instance, it is by no means
plain, as he asserts, that worries about a UN takeover are behind the USA
expressing concerns over the new gTLD process. Many of the USA's concerns
are shared not only by other members of the GAC, as we are seeing in
Brussels right now, but also the At-Large community. Also there is not one
word about the 'small non-profit' being set up as beholden to a
multistakeholder process. Then there is the further FUDdy implication in the
article that the rollout of new gTLDs will instantly lead to the creation of
.nazi - by no means a certainty - without any mention of community efforts
like many geographic tlds. Etc etc.
When one compares this with the excellent writing of other WP Internet
correspondents like Celia Kang, one wonders what is going on in that
newsroom.
